Instructions for the handmade tulips

  1. Punch six large apple shapes out with a punch. Use scissors cut the stems off all of the apple shapes.  Add shading to the apple shapes using  ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink Pink Sky, Sea Crystal and Artic Deep.
  2. Place the apple shapes right side down on a rubber mat with the large end of each piece pointing away from you.  Then use a large ball stylus or rounded end of the molding tool to shape each of the apples, drawing the stylus toward you.
  3. Punch out 2 medium sized snowflakes with a punch. Place the snowflakes on the rubber mat and use the large ball stylus to cup both of the snowflakes.
  4. Place one of the cupped snowflakes upside down on your finger. Then use your free hand and a toothpick to apply glue to the small end of one of the apples. Place the apple on the snowflake so that it covers two of the snowflakes projections. Repeat this step with two more of the apples shapes until the snowflakes projections have been entirely covered. The center of the snowflake should remain open.
  5. Place each of the last three apples shapes over the seams created by the previous row of apples.  Let the glue dry.
  6. Use the toothpick to apply glue to the center of the second cupped snowflake. Then place the snowflake with the apples attached on top of this snowflake.
  7. Glue a floral stamen on the inside of the center of the tulip.   Color the stem with ink if you desire to change the stamen’s color.
  8. Punch three leaves using a leaf punch. Glue the three leaves to the bottom of the tulip.

Instructions for finishing the chalkboard frame.

  1. Tap the Stylus Tips blending tool on the Colorbox Limited Edition Arctic Deep Fluid Chalk Ink Pad to pick up a generous amount of ink. Now using the Stylus Tips blending tool, blend the ink over the entire unfinished wood frame of the chalkboard.  Make sure to add the ink heavier on the frame edges.
  2. Randomly stamp a design across the entire surface of the wood frame with Colorbox Limited Edition Arctic Deep, Red Barn, Guacamole and Sea Crystal Fluid Chalk Ink.
  3. Using the Stylus Tips blending tool, pick up a generous amount of ink and cover the wood sentiment words with the ink.  For the three words, I used Colorbox Limited Edition Arctic Deep, Red Barn and Guacamole Chalk Ink.  Glue the stamped wood pieces to the wood frame.   Repeat the same process with a wooden bird cut out.
  4. Using a very strong adhesive, glue the three handmade tulips to the top corner of the frame.  Add a rhinestone flourish.
