Use Big Shot™ to create one “Card with Scallop” and one flower set die cut (Flower Layers #3) from heavy white cardstock following manufacturer’s directions. Score and fold card.
Ink the “solid petal flower” stamp from Thankful set generously with Yellow Ochre ink. Press stamp onto cardstock on right side of the card front with vigor, rocking the stamp around. Without re-inking smack the stamp again onto the paper to create the illusion of an image in the background. (This is Cathie’s “Smack Down” technique.) Repeat, working in groups of three, until background has at least three separate groups of three. Clean stamp.
Tap a paper towel onto the Yellow Ochre inkpad and gently buff the color onto the edges of the card front and over stamped images. Buff on as much or as little ink as you desire.
Ink the same image from step 2 with Lime Pastel, stamp over and round the previous images. Be sure to space the images and think odd numbers for pleasing layers. Clean stamp. Ink stamp with Rouge and stamp over and round the images, in the same manner.
Tap out some Smooch® Gold Lamé onto the 2” x 3” clear acrylic block, mist with water. Mix the Smooch® and water with your finger until it resembles a splatter. Use the block to “stamp” the misted Smooch® over your flower images on the card front to create marbleized Smooch® look.
Ink the “thanks” sentiment stamp from Thankful set with Charcoal and stamp image onto card front, placing as shown. Ink the “flower border” stamp from Thankful set with Charcoal and stamp image onto card front, placing as shown. Color in the center of the flowers with Smooch®, alternating the Green Apple, Sassy Pink and Gold Lamé colors.
Ink “Dotted background” stamp from Sweet Backgrounds set with your choice of Chalk color: Yellow Ochre, Lime Pastel or Rouge. Stamp image onto the largest flower die cut. Tap a paper towel onto the inkpad and gently buff additional color onto the edges of the die cut.
Depending on the Chalk color used in step 8, use the corresponding Smooch® color: Gold Lamé for Yellow Ochre, Green Apple for Lime Pastel; and Sassy Pink for Rouge to paint the entire small flower die cut. To paint with Smooch® dab the color over the surface then blend with cotton swab, adding more color and blending until you have the desired look.
Layer the flower die cuts and perforate center to add flower brad. Attach the flower to the card front with foam adhesives, as shown.
